Situated on the tip of the Furness Peninsula, Piel Island is a jewel that the traveller can stumble across and be won over forever, by this charming little fifty acre island. For it has a King, a Castle and a Pub, all steeped in history waiting to be discovered by you.

Built in 1846 by the vicar of Cartmel, Hampsfell Hospice has provided shelter for travellers ever since. Just a half hour’s walk from from Grange-over-Sands, the Hospice boasts an outstanding view that takes in the Old Man of Coniston, Helvelyn, the Langdales and Morecambe Bay.
The impressive remains of an abbey founded by Stephen, later King of England, including much of the east end and west tower of the church, the ornately decorated chapter house and the cloister buildings.
A wonderful parkland course in Cumbria’s Lake District. Originally designed by Open champion Alex Herd, the course was remodelled by renowned golf course architect H S Colt in the 1920’s.
Formed in 1921, its elevated position, overlooking the Duddon estuary and with glorious views of the Lakeland mountains, provides a fitting backdrop to this 18 hole, 6200 yard, Par 71, championship golf course.
Founded in 1905, the Dunnerholme Golf Club is a links course on the shores of the Duddon Estuary north of the village of Askam-in-Furness. Dunnerholme Rock from which the Golf Club gets its name, is a limestone outcrop that projects out in to the Estuary and is part of the course.
Founded in 1872, Furness Golf Club is the 3rd oldest links and the 6th oldest golf club in England and probably the best kept golfing secret in the North West. Located on the Furness peninsula, it offers a stunning backdrop of the Lakeland hills and spectacular views across the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man.
Nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere in Cumbria, this extensive working mill produced literally millions of wooden bobbins vital to the Lancashire spinning and weaving industries. Canal Foot is an industrial village in Cumbria, England, on the Leven estuary. It is located 1.7 miles (2.7 km) by road to the east of the centre of Ulverston.
With a year-round population of roughly 4,000 people, Grange-over-Sands is one of the smallest towns nestled along the Morecambe Bay in North West England. Until the Victorian era, this was a small and fairly isolated fishing village.
